Regarding your "Unusual Thoughts", may I please suggest that you obtain and read the book Thinking and Destiny by Harold W. Percival. If difficult to find, the organization which maintains its publication is The Word Foundation. It may be ordered directly from them. Despite the name "Word" Foundation, this is NOT a "religious" book (in the usual sense of the term). I'm not trying to "evangelize" you "religiously", but I AM trying to steer you to a phenomenal mode of thought re this universe.

At that website, some information concerning this book may be found but may I say that nothing compares to actually reading and studying this work. I consider it to be the most importart volume on any subject, in any category, on this earth. Given your thoughts concerning Judiasm and early Christianity, I suspect that this work may open up avenues of thought for you that are few and far between in this world. But offering much "food" for thought!

With many thanks and wishing you the very best,

Hey Col,

Feel free to use them. Also, I have no need for anonymity, nor do I need credit for these things. So use my name if you want to, but don't feel obligated to. Whenever I share ideas, I am literally giving them away.

First of all, they're probably not completely my thoughts. They are often based on things I've learned from others or from experiences. Sometimes I think they may even be divinely inspired and how can I take credit for that?

Anyway, I think that the only way for us to truly find the truth is to get these thoughts out there and really look at them and determine what parts are divinely inspired reality and what parts are ego driven, fantasy.

I guess the only stipulation for me would ever be, don't attribute something to me that I didn't actually say or do and don't take things out of context if you can help it.

Hi Chris!

What great questions! I wonder if you'd mind if I used some of these for my interviews with LOA teachers? I could ask with or without using your first name ... your choice. I just really think they show someone who is really delving in and I know that there are good answers to these questions.

Warmly,
Col

What I would really love is to get something to inspire a sort of pay it forward attitude in people.

I mean, really, all wealth comes down to what work was done, and more importantly, did the work that was done help someone who needed it. Truly what goes around comes around and I imagine that if a lot of people were motivated to do things, essentially out of the goodness of their hearts, then there would be more wealth in the world.

I think this is a really good idea. I am currently receiving training from a personal development coach in exchange for doing some web/product development work for him. Instead of an exchange of money, we have an exchange of "energy" so to speak. I think this could be done in lots of ways and make it easier for people to get the things they need.

Hey Rob, I saw the one with Esther Hicks, although, I admit, I haven't seen it in a while now.

A part of me feels as if the phases you listed don't really cover the situation well.

For instance, it is possible to believe without understanding. They even said so in "The Secret". I don't understand electricity, but I believe it and use it.

It appears to me that even those who are using and talking about the Law of Attraction, don't fully understand it, and quite frankly, I'm not certain that anyone ever will.

So, right now, I would say that I believe that LOA works and I feel that I've mastered certain aspects of it. Do I believe that it is as "absolute" as is being portrayed? Or, more specifically, do I believe that "everything" that comes to me is a result of LOA? Well, I'm not ready to believe that just yet.

If I get a chance to, I will check out that book.

Pollyanna,

Okay, so let's say that I attracted those things because I needed to learn from them.

It is my current understanding that LOA works under 2 main principles. 1. A mental construct of what is being attracted (images, sounds, feelings, etc) and 2. A vibrational harmony with what it is that is being attracted. If I am attracting those things, in order to learn what I need to learn, how is it that I am getting the mental constructs, or vibrations needed to attract them? Or, are you saying that I am attracting something else, and these things are coming to me, in order to bring me closer to what I do have the mental construct for?

Thank you both for commenting. The truth sometime requires rigorous assessment and the truth is important to me.

As a side note, but somewhat related, I am curious as to the cause and effect aspects of LOA. I mean, did I attract something because I used LOA? or... did I use LOA because I was going to attract something? I mean, why, for instance, did I want what I wanted? Maybe I wanted it because it was already coming to me? Maybe it attracted me and not the other way around?

What I would say about attracting "bad things" into your life is that they are not bad things at all. You did attract them, I wholeheartedly believe in LOA, but you attracted those things in order to learn what you needed to learn. You have the ability to take every situation, not matter how big a challenge and use it for good in your life. You are not a victim. No one is. Thanks for posting. I love discussing this topic.

Chris,

There are four phases of 'getting it.'

1. You learn about it.
2. You understand it.
3. You believe it.
4. You know it.

You seem to be vacillating somewhere between phase 2 and phase 3.

When you say you saw "The Secret" are you referring to the original version which included Esther Hicks? There is a totally different energy in the two versions that have been available.

If you only saw the most recent version in which she was edited out, you may want to check out her book (by Abraham) "Ask And It Is Given."

Everything you would ever want to know about Law Of Attraction is in that book.
